On Tuesday (22 August) our summer screening program 'Subtitled T-days' (with English subtitles included) will present the German-Austrian film 'Toni Erdmann', directed by Maren Ade. Screening starts at 8:30 pm.
'Toni Erdmann' was praised as one of the favourites at Cannes Film Festival, later it was awarded with European Parliament LUX Prize and it swept five awards (film, director, screenplay, best actress and best actor) at the European Film Awards ceremony. This richly-layered dramedy explores a complex relationship between a father and daughter in contemporary corporate culture and encourages debate on current societal issues. A "work of great beauty, great feeling and great cinema" (The New York Times) includes the "funniest nude scene of all time" (Indiewire).
During the summer, every Tuesday and Thursday from 29 June until 2 September, screenings at Cinema Europa's Grand Hall will have English subtitles alongside the Croatian ones.
